When making hollow beads and other open structures with Metal Clay
Silver or PMC, this material will provide the internal support you need. It is
very easy to work with. Simply mold it with your hands into whatever shape you
desire. Upon firing, the material burns away completely, leaving only the
metal. Use cork clay to create
hollow beads and other forms with metal clay. Cork clay is useful as a core for
making hollow objects with Precious Metal Clay®. The clay burns out cleanly
when fired with PMC.
Cork clay is made of cork powder,
carboxymethylcellulose (non-toxic), water, anti-mold agent and fungicide
To
make a simple hollow sphere:
1. mold the Cork Clay into a ball
2. Cover the ball with MetalSilver
Clay or Metal Clay Paste
3. Allow the material to dry
4. Fire at 1472°F (800°C)
for 30 min.
Approximately 1/2 lb.
